As a result of the daring dacoity at Purbachal in Kasba area Kaustav Ghosh (18) a Computer Engineering student was shot to death by the dacoits on 21st November, 2000. Kaustav’s father Shyamal Ghosh was put under sedative. He woke up in his intermittent delirium and asked for a revolver to take revenge upon his son’s killers. The affected family was eager to shift to Kudghat. We know that the Chief Minister is very much present in West Bengal, with his dear contingent of Police force. But what is the guarantee of human life amidst chaos, confusion and consternation?
